Did Tyagaraja ask for royalty?

Mr.T.M.Krishna and Mr.Vijayasiva gave a press report on 11th July 2010
“Artistes continue to be deeply hurt by some rasikas who secretly record performances with diminutive gadgets including cell phones and exch ange these illegal recordings with the ‘like-minded’. Such offenders have contributed ‘richly’ to the downfall of the music market to the lowest-ever point that it has reached today! And, in the process, choose to misplace their loyalty to protect offenders rather than the artiste whom they claim to admire! It is high time they realise that enjoyment, however elevated it may be, holds no strength when it comes through an illegal channel and by bruising the rights and emotions of the one who provides it. For, recording even a bit of music, dance or any performance without the artiste’s permission is legally punishable: under the Copyright Act, 1957”.
